For anyone interested, this is a continuation of the discussion from the main board .
So, the number one thing that gets brought up about Gal Gadot is that she's too skinny for Wonder Woman. I agree with this criticism to a degree. Here's an image of Wonder Woman standing next to Zatanna and Batgirl.
You can see that Diana (on the left) is significantly larger than the other two. Truly Amazonian, if you will. I would agree that Gal Gadot doesn't 100% fit this look. But there's probably only a very small number of women in the world that do. You could make the argument that she's too skinny, but I think that that is a criticism that could be made of most modern day actresses. Gal Gadot is very beautiful and she's a former member of the IDF who trained quite a bit for Wonder Woman. I think that you're really not going to do much better than that. Lynda Carter may be the perfect Wonder Woman but you could do a lot worse than Gal Gadot.
Another criticism is that some people, such as Red Letter Media , have said is that she's not a great actress. I don't know about this because I haven't seen her in anything else and she's in BvS so little that it's hard to get a baseline.
I will say, and I don't know if it's the writing or Gadot or a combination of the two, that I don't agree with this portrayal of Wonder Woman as a super tough warrior type who gleefully rushes into battle shield up and sword drawn. That's how she's portrayed to an extent in BvS, but Wonder Woman is supposed to be the calm, reasonable one who resorts to violence only out of necessity. Maybe the movie will do this better.
