my idea on what some mechanics could look like and change into.
1. more in depth herbs
hope there is going to be a bit more in depth herb system. they where just healing packs is SoM, maybe a crafting menu for potions (they did say they expended the rpg systems "imensely") that u can use while ur fighting a captain/warchief/overlord or during sieges but that you only can have like 2 or else the difficulty would be changed drasticly, so if it is an very late game ability. that would work.. i think?xa0
mhhh i love this idea, it would make fighting captains not so bland because you couldnt really feel the difference between archer, soldier, defender and beserker and that is what made the game so boring after having fought one whole roster of captains and warchiefs, they all feel so the same in type of combat (their personalitys where pretty good. but their just werent enough of them) . so i hope that the necromancer will bring alot more variety. alongside other special types, like the tricksters with smoke bombs (which should be an ability for talion, i mean come on stealth was pretty basic in SoM, ill talk more about it in the next section).
the gameplay showed us many new abilities, which is great. (since the game is going to be long, and i heard in an interview from a dev "we also had in mind, a game that can be played like skyrim. never ending") some of us. maybe alot of us (and me personally) loved just sitting in the stage where u have to brand 5 warchiefs, never going further in the story. and just farm those captains and have alot of fun. but eventually we would max out and have all the abilities, and it would become boring eventually because the lack of variety in ways the game can be played because of the small amount of abilities. for example the smoke bomb thing i was talking about earlier. you could sneak into a fortress and assassinate an captain/warchief/anyone, with strike from above. you would get caught ofc (if u do it right *wink wink*) throw your smoke bomb and escape, with the ear of your nemesis (reference alert.ratbag cut of the ears of the uruks talion had killed, as proof). now i know.. smoke bombs are a bit assassins greedy (that wasnt a missspell, u know what a mean >:( xa0) but they would add more ways of taking down your nemesis/enemy. also interested, with what abilities you are gonna start with. all the abilities from the last game? and then add the new ones to it as you go on?
4. fighting trolls, or however those shrahks are called.
now we did see this in the gameplay demo (the overlord was an troll) we can slide under them. is this an ability? who know, maybe there will be an ability like graug riding, that makes you able to sorta ride them (in a horse way, not the other one) ooh ooh brand them and then be able to ride them as graugs lol that would be cool lol. dont have that much to talk about in this section.xa0
5. will ratbag be back?
will our lord and saviour return, or atleast make an cameo in the story? like being mentioned by talion when he is talking about how stupid and disgusting orcs are. (he does that quite a few times in SoM)
will these return? or will the gear system take its place? will you be able to craft them, using mirian or can you have a fortress you conquer make/upgrade your weapon for free only once? like build a smith that can upgrade the dmg that your captains/warchiefs/overlords do, that are stationed at that fortress. (i will cover more of this in the next section).
7. fortress upgrades, and in general
i heard that your fortress can also have a flame trap as in the gameplay demo. so i wonder how much variety is in the defenses can you have trained graugs storm into the enemy when the break thru the gate? and push them back? or the other way around that when u attack that u can have graugs intead if you captain as batterring rams? it will be interesting to see how much there is. because eventho there are 21 forts (from what i could see and find) this far its will get repetetive using the same tactic over and over again.xa0
8. a big one, the warchests
i think these are going to contain gear. and since you have multiple slots (cape, armor, sword, dagger, maybe bows, spears and more stuff) that these chests will contain SETS of armor that you dont have a weird talion walking around in rohan armor while wearing and isengard cape. that would look weird. this will be for the lazy player that dont want dont go and hunt down difficult enemies (idk who would find that boring tho). these may be bought with real money or maybe with mirian, i heard a dev refer to mirian as currency. so this might be a hint that warchests could be bought with mirian you have collected and that te warchests you get from the gold/silver edition (i forgot if you also get warchests with the mithiril edition, i dont think so) are just gifts you get for buying that editions, a way for the devs to thank you or something.xa0
9. we begged for one, we get one. it seems.
the diffuculty settings. many of us talk about how late game was too easy with a decked out talion, or even with a mid lvl talion. we are getting one in shadow of war. now im interested in how this will be aplied, i heard a dev say that it would change the way orcs fight and move around. i think that hardmode (the highest difficulty) will unlock more abilities enemies can have, and (if there is one) an easy mode will lock abilities. and, what the dev said.xa0
do u guys have any ideas or thoughts? let me know! hope there is a dev here somewhere. (sorry if the title was a bit too click baity lol)
