How to Make People Actually Play Ranked

As someone who is not part of the 0.1% of players in the top 200 on the leaderboards, playing ranked at its current state is a COMPLETE bore.xa0

The essence of playing competitive in any game is to get better, as that is where you find the more serious people. However, the matches are still supposed to be fair, and the winner is not supposed to be pre determined.

This is why most games have tiers, so you face people who are always at your skill level, which is something a game like this desperately needs.

Those of us who arent on the top 200 leaderboard have no incentive to play ranked, i cannot count the amount of times ive had the easiest games of my life by playing a newbie, and how many times ive played people ON the top 200.. once i even played the #4 ranked player. How on earth is any of that fair?!?

If this game incorporated actual rankings for players in terms of tiers, that would be a MUCH better way to judge the skill of a player, as you would gain points to rank up per win, and lose points per loss, kinda like in Overwatch or League (along with having actual prizes for playing competitive) like backgrounds or icons or gear etc.

I play ranked to get better, not to have a nice w/l ratio by playing against lvl 10s and below because of the very flawed system (P.S; W/L ratio means nothing in this game).
