Hello everyone! Today, I'll be explaining how to play Starfire, the Queen of Tamaran, and the easiest DLC character to play.
Starfire is a beginner friendly character who comes to battle equipped with many projectiles, giving her zoning capabilities, speed, and simple combos to make any new player more familiar with the mechanics of Injustice 2.
We're going to take a look at her level 20 stats (due to Competition mode).
Air Dash (Towards and Backwards): The air dash allows Starfire to dash in air, which can get her some distance away or close in any distance from an opponent. This move is great for both and covers a lot of space.
Burning Desire: When activated, Starfire hits the opponent with her hair to deal damage. This move can be meter burned to land a second overhead hit. Keep in mind that this attack is unsafe, but meter burning this make it safe on block. Be careful!
Star Dust: Starfire tosses an exploding nebula at her opponent, which deals damage. It can be tossed close, mid, far, and very far. The close version is unsafe, the mid version is safe, and the far and very far versions are actually very advantageous if blocked, so the opponent will be locked in block and you can land another projectile. Also note that this ability has a long recovery.
Starblast: Starblast is a standard projectile. If meter burned, Starfire will step back slightly and fire a barrage of mid projectiles at the opponent. This attack is unsafe up-close, so the best way to use this effectively is to use this at a far distance. If meter burned, it is safe. The most efficient way to get out of situations is to meter burn this, and use her character trait and meter burn that, however only it is hit-confirmed.
Shooting Star: One of the best anti-airs in the game, this attack will cause Starfire to elevate with diagonal rising beams, which strike three times. If meter burned, two additional strikes are added. It's great for catching the opponent out of the air and a great wakeup. It is unsafe, and it mostly whiffs. It is awful on grounded opponents unless the opponent is being comboed.
Starbolt: Starbolt is a standard projectile that deals nice damage, can be extended, and can be meter burned to knock the opponent away. The reason why this is a great attack is because it can be used almost anytime. It can be used when in air, but importantly, you can cancel out of any special attack with this to add damage. It is unsafe, but safe if meter burned. Combining this meter burned with Star Dust can be a great pressure tool for zoning.
That's all for now. I hope you learned a bit! If you ask about combo strings, well, they're all safe, or extremely difficult to punish. (kinda lazy but oh well.)
Any questions or requests? Let me know, and I'll see what happens! Hope this helps you with using Starfire effectively.
