If you haven't captured those forts in act 2 yet, do this: go through the assault by killing all the warchiefs, but when you get to the overlord, don't kill him. Instead, turn the difficulty to Gravewalker and let him kill you a few times until he gets to level 65. Then, unless you wanna try killing a level 65 guy on Gravewalker when you're only around level 20, turn the difficulty down to Easy or Normal and kill him. This will give you hundreds of thousands of XP and several skill points on the first fortress. I once went from level 21 to 36 in one setting using this technique. But when you do the 2nd fortress, since you're at a higher level, you'll won't get as much XP.

Even better than XP boosts, honestly. You can reach level 60 before you even touch act 3.

That would be redundant since the first fort you capture is in Nurnen, which is part of the main story since Ratbag is the overlord.

    Well, excluding Nurnen, of course...

Honestly? They’re probably getting rid of xp boosts as there will be no way to obtain them, spoils of war will still remain I imagine but they should really be rebalancing the amount of xp gain from almost any source and hell, maybe even give us xp from killing orcs and beasts like in shadow of Mordor, I really liked that as a feature.

Tbh, you dont need them anyway imo. I cant remember the exact circumstances but, you can get a permanent boost from, iirc, signing uo for the news letter or joining WBID or something. Get that, and crack on. Xp flows fairly quick.
Also keep in mind the July update. With skill tree alterations and actual changes to the late game, i dont think it will be an issue.

You know that’s like a 3% boost, barely noticeable but it’s there, but also if there is more skills or you can have multiple upgrades on certain skills, all the more reason they need to overhaul the xp system or give out xv boosts in some other fashion. We all know we’re gonna restart the game in July so don’t say it doesn’t matter either.

Imo it doesn't matter. You don't need them. I never used them and had all skills unlocked before i finished. And we dont use all the skills at once anyhoo. With planned progression, its pretty straight forward unlocking what you want. I get some want to speed it up, but its not like its a massive grind without them.
And as i said, keep in mind the july update. With them changing parts of the skill tree, whatever those changes are, they will probably tweak the xp system.
One could also look at it this way, the boosts were part of the micro transaction system. Some would say, They were used to tempt a purchase. If that system is removed, theres no way to purchase them, therefore no reason to promote them, therefore we may see some re balancing of the xp.
But even if we dont, they are not needed. You can be pretty much max level at the end, with most of the skills unlocked.

Don’t you remember how it starts to take like 100000+ to get a level past 50? The only real good way to do that was shadow wars. All I’m saying is we shouldn’t need to be at the end of the game to make it not super grindy for levels. I’m sure they’ll change it but every time I’ve thought about something in this game and it’s updates it’s almost never happened. I don’t even know if they think the exp system currently is flawed or not but if they change shadow wars to be shorter and not give out that much exp then that’s going to be a problem for a lot of people imo. When I stayed in act 2 with celebrimbor for a very long time it took me over the course of several days doing sieges and what not with exp boosts on to get to 60, keep in mind I’m killing level 60 captains all the while with 125%+ exp boost on. I just hope they’ll do something but somehow I doubt it, I just feel like I’m expressing fair caution for what they might overlook because they don’t think it’s going to be a problem. I know it’s something you’ll only have to worry about once per playthrough but I don’t think you should basically only be earning exp from story and captains 20+ levels higher than you, anything else is pitiful amounts of exp.

You get tthe the higher levels because you are nearing the end game and because you are getting near the end game, you get more xp for what you are doing which increases your level. Its actually balanced very well. If someone chooses to sit at an earlier stage of the game to mash out levels, its not the fault of the system that the later levels are harder to attain. Its working as a progression system should.
Imo it most certainly should be more difficult to get to the higher levels without progressing the state of the game. The higher levels are attained as a reward for progress, and as a necessity to progress further. It goes hand in hand.
The way it sits atm, the player gets powerful as they get through the story, but isnt over powered too early on. If anything, boosts allow quicker levelling and therefore a reduced challenge, therefore reducing the effectiveness of the nemesis system. I wouldn't be surprised if they removed boosts altogether as they are completely surplus to requirements.
So no, they probably dont see it as flawed, because, imo, its not. Its actually very well paced.

Nobody has said anything about shortening the shadow wars either. What they have said is, and im paraphrasing, is they will add to the narrative structure of the wars and give them more substance. If all they are doing is essentially adding story beats, then the xp system should stay exactly as it is. If they make substantial changes to the skill tree, then we can safely assume they will tweak the xp stuff a bit.

I remember the last handful of levels (~57-60) being somewhat of a grind to finish, but I didn't mind it and only used the XP boosts 3  or so times max (between 59-60)    The 3% sign-up for Newletter thing boost I enabled long after I got to level 60, lol.   I still have a dozen unused XP boosts in my inventory, as the game stopped giving those out shortly after reaching lvl 60  I believe at the time I had finished the Shadow Wars I was still <lvl 60, and I simply used Vendettas and Online Sieges to get me over the top.   I thought the levelling up process was balanced well enough.

I for one am not going to be restarting SoW with the July update, regardless of how they change the game.    The only way I'm restarting is if they have a 2nd Save slot (and there are no issues/bugs with the Olnine components) OR my current Save becomes corrupted.   Like most, I still have unused skill points that I can put towards any new skills (assuming they add some to existing and not just rejig the current setup).   If they do append to the existing Skills, then they'll either have to re-enable the collection of XP or have a different method of rewarding the player with Skill Points (e.g. add more Bright Lord Missions or whatever).   Even 5 months now after maxing to lvl 60, the game still displays the amount of XP each time you Shame, Kill, Recruit, etc Captains, but of course is not adding them to your locked base totals.     It would be relatively easy for the upcoming patch to re-enable the accumulation of them and put towards those additional skills (without levelling up Tallion 60+ in the process).   I don't think they should enable more levels for Tallion, what's the point?  THey'll then just how to increase the max level of Enemy Captains +5 too, and it'll turn into a never ending game of catch-up.
