things you hate in shadow of war
now, shadow of war is a GREAT game. But even if we like it, we still actually not-like the game at some point, so here are alist of things that I hate.
- major rebellion's
- talion running and climbing into random walls/objects when a retreating orc is getting away.
- your overlord/ one of your loyal followers dying in the fight pits.
- accidentially killing an orc captain that might have been a good follower.
- losing your fort in a siege defense
- not having enough mirian to buy training orders.
what are yours?
-
A few of mine are...
Orcs going on back to back missions
Trying to recruit an orc that's repeatedly going on missions
Orcs that are poison proof and beast proof, dying during trial by ordeals with two reinforcements and no enemies.
Berserkers swinging at friendly captains with enemy grunts present.
Orcs gaining a single level for downing a friendly which makes them unrecruitable.
Shame mark
Deranged and maniac
Orcs losing personality
Fight pit AI. I don't expect tactics, but I expect marksmans to keep distance.
Nerfed traits in fight pits ( banners for commanders ect)
Lack of fight pit filters. Turn off weapon elements, gangs, allow/dissallow traits, at least for friendly.
Orcs performing executions in the pits with no context. No might meter build.
Removing traits (mount for example) Also ridding glaring weaknesses like terrified by_ for a cost like Gems/Mirian.
Orcs with no weakness consistently retreating online for no reason.
Enemy not targeting trickster decoys. Decoys not appearing online.
Champion fight pits not matching level after initial completion
Taking all of an enemy graugs health after dismounting during online conquests.
Lack of options for seiges and some being uselss like War Graug.
Iron Will period
Orc facial features changing every time you scroll over them in the garrison
B.O.G orcs bugging in garrison, requiring back out and re enter.
Lack of garrison sorting. Class/Tribe/Name
Not being able to apply more than one level +1 at a time.
Fire proof orcs being staggered by fire?
That's all I got right now.

I really like this game, but the two thing I hate are:
Iron will
in SoM we didn't have a ring of power and we can dominate without problem
now we have a ring of power and some orcs resist? wtf
I hate that some orcs loose their mind and become deranged an scream or do funny noises instead of speaking
-
Amen to the hysterical/shaken master and Talion wasting executions on the wrong orc.
I hate the game's inability to deal with uneven ground. Fury ground execution on a slanted roof? Punches may not generate might. Attacking while standing on a pile of rubble? Sorry, just swing your sword at thin air.
I hate trying to freeze stun a Captain and dropping off a ledge instead.
I hate how Talion stands at the edge of a platform I want him to jump off and just looks over the side.
I hate the way the camera shifts around in the middle of a fight.
I hate that Talon Strike doesn't work in the throne room. ( I use Eagle's Eyrie a lot.)
I hate getting killed when I know I hit the right button in time.
I hate the Fight Pits. From the wonky AI, to the lousy hit detection, to how ridiculously unbalanced it is. But mainly I hate the pro wrestling aspect of it. Fights that should be over in 10 seconds last a minute and a half, ending with the guy you knew would win pulling a "miracle comeback" and killing his opponent in two hits.

you can stick as many orcs as you have room for in your garrison with relocation orders and they carry over, before starting again I rescued all my pre-order orcs who yet lived, some others I liked, my collection of Az-Laar's and all my necromancers (all three of them) and I still have them sitting safe in there.

I agree with 90% of what's been posted here on this subject. A number of issues not discussed that are real frustrations for me:
- The Nemesis 'by design' Captain replacment mechanic. Spend dozens of hours to search for and find, fight, shame, fight again, recruit, help on Nemesis missions, manage traits, test, protect, level up, move to Garrisson, slot in region, manage them through all the system-generated Nemesis missions in that region, assign as BG, take as Follower in Assaults, manage throughout and in an instant he's poof gone by this fautly design and replaced with an enemy gack not worthy to wash his soiled undies.
-Insta killed Captains via spider bites in Online Sieges
-Continued nerfing/dumbing down of Classes, which has made finding those unique, very powerful Captains a thing of the past.
-95% of the time post Online Siege/Vendetta, the followers you recruit and return with you are not identified with the 'dot' (signifying new Captain) in your Garrisson. This forces some very time consuming measures to find them. Wouldn't e such a problem if the frequency of items dropped by dead Captains in these Online activies would return with you to your world - as it stands most times they don't.
-Garrisson going offline for a nanosecond which kicks you out of the Garrisson and you have to start your search all over again.
- No quick save for your favorite inventory/gear setup. .One for Sieges, one for Vendetta/Open world would be great and save a lot of time
-Inventory management a real pain the way it's setup, ditto with the Garrisson.
-No option in Brutal/Gravewalker to keep the Nemesis Mission timelines akin to Normal/Nemesis (e.g. 3 full turns).

Orcs in Pit fights (Seriously why do they taunt all the time instead of attack?)
Talion automatically targeting allied captains for attacks instead fo enemy grunts (Highly annoying, WTF)
Talion randomly climbing when you want him to chase an orc captian weho's retreating.
Then my biggest hate and I mean my biggest hate, Orcs randomly disappearing qwhen you try and deploy them from garrison (Seriously when will this be fixed?) I really want this fixed so I can continue to play the game. -
Forgot another real irritating one
- Nemesis-generated connecting lines linking Followers you DO NOT want to be BG's to Warchiefs, forcing them to be BGs.
- Nemesis system not 'refreshing' or 'clearing' old BG linkages to Followers that have been moved to Garrisson. The empty 'cell' retains these linkages, and when slotting a new Follower in there the System 'recreates' this old BG linkage - sometimes it's random and links them to a different Warchief, despite you manually selecting and recreating the desired linkage (e.g. resulting in the Follower with 2 linkages, each to different Warchiefs). To 'fix' this, you are forced to travel to another region, do a Vendetta or Siege mission (Nemesis mission won't fix this) or turn the game off. Doing any of the aforementioned 'solutions' generally leaves these 'confused' cells without any linkages, so you have to recreate them all over again.

I think this is very annoying as well but on the other hand I wish the game had a more "forced" hierarchy like SoM where you can't just move everyone around as you please.

A few more from me if you don't mind:
I hate getting hit by the Machine Tribe's hook through obstacles. Like barricades. Or tents. Or buildings.
I hate doing a stealth attack from a beast and having it do no damage because Immune to Execution.
I hate aerial stealth attacks doing no damage because Talion stops a few feet above the head of the intended target and hovers in mid-air.
I hate wasting my time farming the Fight Pits. Run back and forth for half an hour vainly hoping to get something decent. Finally get one and it gets replaced by a level 80 of a tribe I don't want. Or get a really good one (a level 53 Berserker Olog with 5 immunities and only damaged by executions and stealth) and the game freezes on the loading screen.
I hate that when I fast travel from one area to another the game will sometimes stop counting the Siege Upgrades in the area I just left, lowering my defense rating by as much as 90 points. This has, in the past, dropped me to a lower rating and cost me Spoils of War before I realized it happened.

I love the game overall
Enraged by
1 Forts have never been attacked. Far and away biggest gripe. Takes all the fun out of fort building
2 Hysterical/shaken masters are everywhere. Far too easy to get this weakness and no way to remove
These are far and away the biggest gripes I have with online assaults. Not sure what Monolith could do about the first problem but the second issue is just plain dumb. It REALLY discourages players experimenting with fortress defense setups in a game mode that already suffers from participation. Not to mention how infuriating it is to find out about this hidden mechanic until it is too late and you've affected all of your best orcs with no way of undoing the damage.
If Monolith wanted to come up with an idea that grinds to a halt any experimentation with fortress setups and piss off your customer base at the same time, this is the perfect solution. I find it hard to believe that NO ONE at Monolith has come forth to acknowledge how bad of an idea this is and either removed the feature or come up with a solution that works towards whatever vision they originally had for this idea that doesn't involve screwing over their game and players.
