Aren't Necromancers supposed to be rare?

Make that 19. I just recruited an OLOG Necromancer, "Ar-Karo the Expounder"!

They are rare in your own game as you may go through an entire playthrough without seeing one but with access to the forts of other players, especially those who have been playing for a while and have had access to other players forts then the changes of finding a necromancer as you pointed out are suddenly a lot greater.

I thought they were rare, even in online Conquest! So since they are not as rare as I thought, maybe I should eliminate some duplicate titles of mine?

Up to you, you could use one in game and keep one safe in the garrison.

I'm such a Horder of unique followers, it's hard to decide. Would it be fair to say that 19 Necromancers including an Olog necro is a high amount?

How many does everyone else have, who may be reading?

I think I've got 4, 3 I found first time round and 1 from an online conquest but I haven't really been looking for them.

Some of them are incredible looking. I'm going to create a YouTube Video showcasing them, perhaps, or post some images here.

I have about 40, and have started grinding them so as not to go beyond that number.  There are still many I'd identify as 'weak' in that bunch, notably their Classes, including Commanders, Trackers and Tricksters.   None other then 4 or 5 would I consider strong enough in Fort Defense (even as BG).   The vast majority in Online Sieges are very easy to recruit, few enragements, lots of Dazes and other weaknesses.   I encountered a Fort last night that had Necros as every Defender (Warchief/BGs) except in the Overlord position (but both his BG were Necros).    That included 1 set of triplcates (Olog) and 1 set of duplicates.   Unless they are of the very rare 'exceptional' quality, I don't go out of my way to target them anymore.

There are some Captains (non-Necros) that you see consistently all the time now in Sieges, it's gets very repetitive and boring.

You have alot of warlocks, craftys, and gravewalkers. Those are guaranteed necromancer's. Too bad I can't say the same for chosen.

I have been strangely fortunate!! If I could give you a few, I would!

I know, they just kept appearing and with GREAT stats, too! I agree about The Chosen.

Yup, and I suspect it will only get worse as time passes. Monolith has basically opened the floodgates to Captain devaluation/hyperinflation and even the most powerful/rare Orcs will one day be so common that people will shrug at the thought of obtaining them instead of being excited.

it sems the major update did a lot of changes.....and some that ARENT good.

In addition to some of the same captains showing up....i have FAR to many captains that defy and cheat death now that its pissing me off....especially the defy death part.

OT: Makes me wish we didnt need to do Online con to get necros....i havent had ANY in my single play-through except Zog...and even then i havent seen him since i cleaved him back in MM a few months ago.

The increase in the "Cheat Death" rate is a good thing. It makes the Nemesis System better, and you can get captains with cool scars.

Exactly, iit's already happening now with a few identical Captains filling all spots in a Fort.    Everyone recruits these guys from other player's Forts, places them in their Fort so they can recruit the same guy again in a Siege (e.g. can't retain post-Seige recruited non-BoG duplicates with any degree of consistency, so they slot these Captains into a Region ASAP and simple recruit them again).    Add to this the by design mechanic that matches you with other high-frequency Siege players, and you not only attack the same small group of player's Forts, but also the same (and often multi-duplicated) Captains.   Making gold that much easier to attain, and it's rare for me now to get anything less (not trying to 'show off', just showing frustration on how this is playing out).     Eventually every fort is going to be a mirror of someone else's and you will face them again and again and again (if you're still playing at that point).     Because any Fort can (and often is) golded, one strategy is to make it as 'frustrating' as possible for other players and limit who they can recruit.    Or you can simply setup your fort with cool guys and let anyone take them - but these quickly lose their 'cool and uniqueness' when you see them all over the place in other players Forts.   In the words of one of my 'One Word' Captain: 'Booooooooooooooring.. booooo-rorooooooo-ring'.    We all know where this is headed, and it's not good.

I've encountered 4 in total and one of those war from an on-line conquest.

My first 2 cut killed.  I turned one of these into a zombie and he got killed. I currently have one in Garrison and active in Lithlad.

I find them very rare though.  I play on-line conquests nightly and I think I've only encountered the one now in my garrison.  To be frank I want more!   Love necromancers.

Nor have I encountered a single machine for that matter!

Just keep up your frequency of ranked Sieges, you'll find and starting filling your coffers with them soon enough.  The same goes for 'the Machine'.   I went through the entire game without getting one of them, now with ranked Sieges I have about a dozen of those guys.  I like 'the Machine' Captains, and on average they are better-traited then Necromancers.   The grow your 'collection' of rare/unique Followes is a nice motivation to continue playing.     I don't slot any of these guys into a region, keep them in Garrisson so as not to 'water' down their uniqueness (or in some cases, history).  Once u start seeing the same guys over and over again, they lose what makes them special (to you anyway).

I can't say necromancers are common by any stretch but I am very picky with which I keep now. I have a Feral Assassin Necromancer which I got in an online conquest. Some weird things happen online. I have a Poet from the Terror tribe? I didn't know that was even allowed.

I've still had no machines and I saw a really good necromancer 2 days ago on an on line conquest which was covered in the line tattoos but because he had enraged by mortal wounds  didn't get to rwecruit him before he died.  Then his body just disappeared.  really annoying.

I rarely see them in on line games.  Bit frustrated by that.

Them being rare is messing the game up sadly. Because the only 1 I like are necromancers. Looking for them for hours and hours and cant not find one. Everyone’s like oooooohhh there a lot in minus morgul. You people don’t know what ur talking keep ur mouths shut. I have been searching for a couple of days. D

Necromancers being so rare is messing this game up. I hope they change their minds about this. And truly make minus morgul a true necromancers playground. Like how it’s a undead bastion and necromancers barely spawn it doesn’t make sense to me but other uruks spawn and none of them can raise the dead. They should take out most of the orcs that spawn there out and make more white skin necromancers there. just for the fact that they look like they should be there. Most of the orcs there look like they have no business being there

Put the green and other color ones in the lands where sieges are at and increase the chances on finding white skin orcs in minus morgul and white skin necromancers just because it’s a undead bastion. Why have other orcs there if they don’t even have a undead look

Beating a dead horse here, but are you waiting for one to spawn in MMorgul (passive, slow, time consuming method) via open world mechanic or are you mining them in the Fight Pits (far more 'faster', active stragegy) for them?    Before the advent of recruitement via ranked Siege, most of my necros were sourced farming the FPs in MMorgul.    Just go from one FP to another to view the system-generated oppoenent. If the one presented is no good, go on to the next one.  Everytime u visit a FP station (Maggot/Warrior/Champion) a different opponent would be displayed.    For me, a Necro would show on average every 2 or 3 hours.  Sometimes 2 would show up in 10 minutes, other times one in 6 hours.   Found another decent one last week which I recruited (Slayer Hunter), and let another pass because he was weak.   Waiting for them to spawn in the region, by moving ahead time, participating in Missions, managing Followers, etc is very tedious and time consuming in comparaison - and I've only ever had maybe 3-4 Necos spawn in that way in close to a year's worth of playing. .

I do very little FP mining these days though, and I always assumed you'd get the same frequency of Necros mining FPits in other regions.  It's just mining them in MM is far far far safer then any other forted region due to the risk of Rebellions, Betrayals and random captain 'by design' replacement mechanic which can (and all too often has) nuked some excellent Followers/Fort Defenders in your managed Fort.    You should not retain any excellent or even 'good' Followers in MMorgul - as soon as you have one there u like get them to Garrisson ASAP.    So if Rebellions / Betrayals / etc happen there (and you actually want them to occur there vrs other regions), no problem, bring them on.
