THE GAME HAS INEXPLICABLY LACKED THE FUNCTIONALITY FOR PLAYER-2 TO ACCESS / USE UNLOCKED CONTENT / THE PROGRESSED PLAYER PROFILE DATA (a.k.a. "LOAD-OUTS"). This problem was / is extant in all formats of the game -- i.e., it's not a format specific bug -- and has been present from game launch.
This shortcoming clearly impinges heavily on the overall functionality and replay value of the game -- given that offline play is the nuts and bolts of any fighting game. Moreover, without the ability for both [local] players to avail customised characters, the matches are wholly unbalanced; unless both players use deafult / "vanilla" load-outs. Still worse, with the already asinine decision to lock actual character special ability sets out from default use behind 'Great Grind Walls of China' (and restricting them to only one or two equippable at any one time), players can never experience the full compliment of their chosen character's move repertoire in an offline / lag-free environment! Why bother unlocking anything if one has little intention of flailing about online...? =/
Indeed, with the third DLC package being relased, and its content (i.e., it' TMNT characters) being spread across load-out sets, the inability for both players to use progressed profile content means that only Player-1 can actually access all of the TMNT character DLC content! LOL!
Surely this is a bug, not a "feature" of the game... right? Tentatively assuming thus (*NRS are guilty of even dumber pratfalls), have NRS / WB acknowledged the existence of this problem? Are they going to fix it?! =|
I've sent in a support ticket (for whatever that's worth), and more of the once-oblivious users are beginning to notice this problem (i.e., since the PC SKU's release and especially since the related TMNT DLC issue cropped up)... But I'm genuinely concerned that, with "Mortal Kombat: Infinity" already being touted, NRS have long moved on, and only the a skeleton crew (+ PC porters) remain -- resulting in a problem that may never be addressed; let alone, fixed! =/
Anyone else not completely oblivious to this glaring shortcoming this game shipped with and has had ever since...?
