Forts still not getting attacked

The region from which you carry out your Assault(s) doesn't impact, in my experience, or force other players to attack you in that same region.   I can carry out 5 ranked Sieges in Gorgoroth but am attacked twice in Seregoth and 3 times in Nurnen.   Generally it's the Daily Challenges that help me decide where to go for ranked Sieges, but if I have a few hours I may target one region specifically and tweak its defenses + carry out many Online Sieges while I'm there.    I may get attacked in turn in the same region I'm in, but most times it's not - to the point it appears to be random.   Lithlad is a region I rarely travel to (2 of its Army 'slots' are buggered, so I avoid it), but my Fort there is attacked once every few days.  This despite me having not travelled or done anything there in over a month now (waiting for the hotfix to solve those 'dead' cells).   .  I'm also attacked as often being offline as I'm attacked while Online - again it's random and based on what other players are doing.    Also, many of those attacking me are 'repeat' customers, up to 7 times in one day in one region worth (ridiculous).    Many of these 'repeat' attackers are those who I've never attacked, while others I may have attacked their fort 3 times over the last month or so (in same or different regions).  I'm on Xbox One.

Thanks for asking, this is worth clarifying. A week before the July 17th update, we quietly* made a tweak to online conquest matchmaking, so that players who attacked would move to the top of the queue for being attacked. This way, players actively participating would get back what they're putting in. And that's probably why you're seeing some repeat customers, Dimitri. You're in that pool of active players.

Region doesn't matter. As long as you're attacking online, you will be given priority over non-participating players.

But since it's still randomly determined what fort gets attacked and it's spread over 5 eligible regions, there's no guarantee a particular region will get assaulted and you may see repeats in one region.

    * Why quietly you ask? Because we wanted to make sure the change was working before saying anything. Now that it appears to be working, we need to be better about spreading the word. Jared will say something on our streams and we'll both keep spreading the word here. Please feel free to pass along, too!

Oh, and  - you shouldn't have to do a bunch of assaults. Just consistently do some to keep your active status. You likely got hit a lot right after the update because we had a lot more active players trying out the new features.

Thanks for chiming in and clarifying Mark.    Interesting, I made a comment prior to the July patch release that the Online ranked Siege mechanic with the match-making update was already in play.   Good to know it's working as designed then - but it does seem that pool of active players is rather thin if some players are routinetly matched over and over again.   Perhaps change the algorithm a bit to make it more variable, gets boring attacking the same guy again as most of these forts are Stagnant in terms of Warchiefs/BG and the Overlord changes.   .
