Gangs not appearing.

To the best of my knowledge summoning a bodyguard doesnt automatically summon a gang of follwers with them. I could be wrong and my game just bugged, but even prior to the patch, gangs only pertained to pit fights and while captains are free roaming the region. Bodyguards simply come to your side on their own. However, it should be noted thatx at least in my experience "Mighty (insert orc type)" bonuses isnt simply a matter of giving the orc captain a gang, but acts as a buff to any of that type of orc within close proximity. So let's say for example your bodyguard has Mighty Hunters, any hunters you dominate during battle will get be buffed and stronger while near your bodyguard. The same applies to enemy captains. If an enemy captain has Mighty Hunters, any hunters that come to join the fight will be buffed.

Again, I'm not absolutely positive that's how it's supposed to work, but that's been my experience in my game.

I believe I saw on a stream that they appear ok in pit fights but unless your orc is a commander then they don’t spawn. Being a commander gives them that ability to summon. It’s a bit stupid since you’re spending a training order on them alright.

, they spawn in pit fights and free roam while not acting as bodyguards. The bodyguard dynamic is a different function that allows the issue of commands to your follower, so I think that might explain why the bodyguard doesnt get his gang/mount when you call him to your side. Perhaps that whole dynamic, having more control over the captain, created issues when a bodyguard also brings his gang and mount with him. Summoning/dismissing might have also been more difficult to pull off with an entire gang involved. To me it makes sense, as a bodyguard plays more into stealth gameplay for me personally. The only place a gang might be useful is in an overlord throne room, but even there they'd be limited in their usefulness.

Yea this happens to me as well, I have noticed that sometimes the gangs that you assign to certain orcs will show up though. Like if you make a mission and have one of your orcs kill another one or ambush another mission, then sometimes his gang will show up. Also I've noticed that bodyguard Destroyers with the ability to summon Sappers will summon them. This comes in handy if you're running any kind of fire build.

Well it shouldn't let you buy the training order if no gang will appear... Free roam they don't, nemesis mission they don't, assualt or defend they don't...

If it's only a pit thing, then gangs in my opinion don't matter anymore.

@ Ghoulhound, The gang does in fact show up for Nemesis missions, Free roam, and Siege assault/defenses (during siege the gang tends to join the waves of grunts rather than staying with the captains though). It's only bodyguards that lose the gang and mount functionality while acting as bodyguards. Restoring them to non-bodyguard status for other situations restores them.
