Monolith, some of us thank you for the update
Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Here’s mine:
I don’t give a rip about skins.
I care about substantive improvements to gameplay which keep me coming back for more.
Monolith chose to focus their not unlimited time on the latter and I thank them for it
1 if you do more online conquests you get attacked more. This is just HUGE. The end game is all about building great forts. But why bother when no one will ever attack them? All those dead forts leftover from when the player base was in the millions ensured the mere thousands playing now would never come up against your fort. Problem solved.
2 online recruitment. Enough said
3. Prestige skills. XP no longer meaningless after end game
4 item leveling. Miriam no longer meaningless after end game
5 Reroll stats. Gems no longer meaningless after end game. Pseudo item creator tool.
6 Masks and new skills. Look badass but more importantly summon lemental graugs
7 Beasts and beast masters are relevant again
8 fight pits rebalanced. I remember a *few* complaints about that
9 purchase epic training orders HUGE. More relevance for Miriam. Cuts waaaaay down on grind aspect. Pseudo orc creator tool
10. Legendary orcs more common. I have been on this hobbyhorse. Now I can get off. Cuts down grind
11 shadow wars fixed.
12. Mystery necromancer change. I bet it’s for the better
13 level cap increase
14 undead relevant again. Less frustration when favorite orc dies.
15 No more marketplace. Ironically, if the marketplace had been merely to purchase skins for orcs and players, it would have been uncontroverisal and still be around.
I’m sure I left stuff out. But how many of those would you trade for a freaking skin?
For me the answer is zero.
I believe them when they say the time spent on wishlist skins would have been prohibitive. Thank you monolith for making the right call. I wish you had had time to please everyone and I’m sure you do too.

I'll admit, I was a little disappointed with the skin at first, but you can't expect something as big as a brand new skin to be included in a free update. They already worked their butts off on those Nazgul masks, and that's the kind of stuff I would pay good money for.
Thanks for this awesome update, Monolith. -
Same
Itruly believe Monolith does hear its community. Most of the problems the game had at first (which I didn't mind, I always thought this game was awesome) are now solved. Also the game had a real improvement and growth along the way and now is better than ever.
Thank you Monolith for making this game possible -

I would say this only partly true because you can level gear to your level, but just like now, you can obtain gear that is above your level. To my knowledge this is level 68 gear at best. I now have two level 68 bows of the ones I use (ice and poison). So the extent to which this is useful is limited, but it is certainly welcome because your weapons will be useful all the way through to level 80 if you want them to be. They're just not the best weapons you can get.
Also, I think you can get a level 90 sword if you are level 1? -
Yes, well said, the gameplay improvements are indeed huge,
active online players get attacked more, that is awesome and a new Nazgul mask gives a new skill with chains and cool stuff and the new skills for each skilltree, totally worth to start a new game in the new brutal difficulty.
and the super narrative aspects in Shadow Wars ,shortened to half and Witch King and Shelob talking, epic!
more legendary orcs in base game and in Endless Siege, that means less grind for legendary gear, less tedious , that is great indeed,
I'm very, very thankful for all this changes and upgrades. yes.
A hood toggle would make the update legendary, but that is only my personal opinion. :)
Keep up the good work Monolith.
