Here's my old build from before I restarted my game. It's mostly random stuff, but focuses mainly on Might

    Sword: Cursebreather (Epic)
•Executions on a captain make your attacks apply curse for 10 seconds
    •10% critical hit chance
(Execute a captain, smack a nearby grunt and he'll become terrified, which allows free stealth attacks)

    Dagger: Veinsplitter (Epic)
•80% increased damage to poisoned enemies
•50 Might gain on a stealth kill
(Don't care about the first perk. Only used this for the Might gain)

    Hammer: Mightmender (Epic)
•7 Might gain per ranged hit
•5 Might gain on a critical hit
(The AOE damage on this hammer allows for insane Might gain)

    Armor: Servant's Blackened Armor
•40% chance for an ally to resurrect when they die
•25% chance for a critical hit to apply curse
(Allies are constantly dying during Online Conquest. Then they resurrect on their own, allowing me to pop their heads with the "Destroy Followers" ability. Yes, I kill my own grunts for wrath)

    Cloak: Mask of the General
•Consume and drain kills create a curse explosion
•Undead allies take 50% less damage
(Pop some heads with Consume, others grunts become terrified, which is another way to allow free stealth attacks. Plus, if looks cool. )

    Rune: Lifeleecher (Epic)
    • Drain or dominate grunts 33% faster
•25 Might gain when draining or dominating an enemy
(Amazing for quick health and Might recovery)

Hiya, absolutely love Middle Earth: Shadow of war the first game i ever preordered and i couldnt be happier with it, the most recent update was amazing to add to the experience that was already my favourite game! So here's my core build that's so fun to play! It is a mold of Arcane and Ringwraith properties a build i like to call:
    Death Incarnate:

This build introduces what i believe to be the highest damge output in the game with the defences to match. It consists of a gargantuam damage output, a constant flow of followers, exterme speed and mobility, unbreakable defences, with enough fear capability to empty a fortress! (Although i don't think it's possible ;-)

    xa0

Step 1: Set difficulty to brutal.

    xa0

Step 2: Place warrior gems in all available slots, prioritising Sword, armour and cloak.

    xa0

Step 3: Equip the following: Urfael, Acharn, Arcane bow, Servants blackened armour, Mask of the Undying and Arcane Rune.

    xa0

Step 4:Equip the following sub-skills for my exact build (Skip to step 5 for core essentials)

Combat: fatal might, fatal counter, Unstoppable, ground drain, Wraith execution, Adamant.

Predator: Spectral dash, Reckless hate, Contagion, Shadow blade, Spirit drain, Vow of violence.

Ranged: Spider song, Brutal cold, Eagle sight, venom, Chain of Shadows.

Wraith: Serrated edge, Poison blast, Frostbite, Chain of souls, Mind breaker, Undying beast.

Mounted: Pounce, devouring force, Dire caragor, Packmaster, Scales of iron.

Story: Domination, Mighty swing, Poisoned weapons, Waters of Lorien, Bodyguard, enrage followers.

    xa0

    Step 5: Core sub-skills are:xa0

Combat: Fatal might, Fatal counter, Unstoppable, Wriath execution.

    Predator: Spectral dash, Shadow balde.

    Ranged: Chain of Shadows.

Wraith: Serrated edge, Frostbite, Chain of souls.

    Mounted: None.

    Story: Waters of Lorien.

    xa0

    Have fun! ;-)

    Mighty Icey Wrath

This build uses a full Might Bar and a full Wrath Bar to unlock extra powers from the armor, 55% damage reduction and 15% chance that ANY hit will freeze a target.

This build gains Might and you keep it in your bar, UNLESS you are in a dire situation.

Same goes with Wrath, the build gains it very quickly and it's meant to keep that bar COMPELETELY full.

This build requires the Ice Flurry move, which you'll use constantally as you'll be freezing enemies left and right. I recommend having the "critical hit" finisher, or the "Shatter" ability.

    ghostly serka.png

    Legendary Pieces

Sword: Bright Lord's Sword - GAIN WRATH

Gain 9 Wrath After perfoming an Ice Storm Finisher - Gets you the wrath you need to activate the Lunar rune.

Hammer: Bright Lord's Hammer -  SET UP FOR ICE STORM FINISHER

Freeze Targets with a fully charged throw -  good for zoning, and preventing targets from hitting back

Set Bonus 2/2 equipped Gain Wrath 50% faster, but Wrath ability lasts half as long. THIS IS TO QUICKLY GAIN A FULL BAR AND KEEP IT.

    Epic Pieces

Lunar Rune: SET UP FOR ICE STORM FINISHER

15% chance ANY attack applies Frost - this applies to ground attacks, uncharged hammer throws, knife throws, everything. Your chosen target will be frozen and waiting for your ice storm, unable to react.

NOTE: I also have a rune that adds fire 15% of the time. Not as good for THIS build, but I still recommend having one in your back pocket, in case you meet a frost proof opponent.

    FateDodger Cloak

Enter Stealth for a Short period after a successful last chance. - You'll be completely invisible for a short period. You can 1) Stealth attack opponents, which sometimes will activate freezing them, 2) save downed followers 3) get the hell out of there. It's a wonderful tool when things are getting rough

NOTE: There's another similar cloak Shadestalker "Become undetected after remaining motionless for 6 seconds". I used this one in the build as well, HOWEVER it is much less suitable for combat, being that it required a moment of complete stillness. Thus, if you are looking to sneak around, it works great and allows for many stealth attacks....but for combat, it is less effective.

    HeartWarden Chest piece

All incoming damage reduced by 55% when your might is full. ALL THE ICE FLURRIES GAIN MIGHT.

With 55% damage reduction, you can take your way through everything. The catch being that you can't use might freely. BUT BUT BUT your last hit in a flurry attack is high damage, and with the critical hit one, can be as strong as an execution.

    Dagger

All Stealth Attacks Freeze the Target - COMBINE WITH INVISIBILITY CLOAK FOR FREEZING A CAPTAIN WHO DOWNED YOU. Plus the high damage from the stealth attack, and one free Ice flurry.

A thrown dagger will freeze a Target every 20 seconds - Useful when you are out of focus/elf shot and you need to freeze a running target. Also great for panic reactions, if someone surprises you, BAM quick dagger.

I have been using an amazing epic gear build too.

Epic is often higher level than legendary due to the plus 3 levels gained on upgrade.  There are some really nifty pieces too.

This build is great for endless siege defense.  The captains will fall like dominoes!  Only downside is that i slaughter the orcs i want to recruit inadvertantly.  I also have 300 prestige points so that helps as well.

Sword: lvl 86 humiliator - might is unlimited for 10 seconds after killing a captain.  This means when 1 captain falls, you can keep spamming executions until all the other captains are mincemeat.  Only ineffective versus execution proof, but you can still spam other abilities.  Also grants plus 10 might on crits.

Dagger: lvl 82 corpsemonger - powerful enough to 1 shot most captains when you use both bonuses  - 55% plus dmg after performing recent stealth kill, 33% plus dmg when health is full, essentually any easy plus 88% damage, kills or nearly kills most captains, especially when stealth vulnerable

Bow: lvl 80 mindmender - unlimited focus hammer with plus 55 focus per range hit. Thus if you hit 3 or 4 guys with the hammer your focus regenerates almost completely.  It is insanely awesome.

Armor: lvl 85 ragewarder - less dmg from enraged and range attacks 40 percent each.

Cloak: lvl 80 shadestalker - reduces range dmg 40%, but, as described by jared, you also enter stealth after 6 seconds without moving.  Excellent for stealth attacking captains during endless sieges.

Ring: lvl 82 heart taker, recovers full health after killing a captain, elven rage lasts 33% longer

To recap, the sword lets you slaughter large numbers of captains after you kill 1 captain.  The dagger, combined with cloak, allows you to nearly always pull off huge damage stealth attacks.  The bow essentially has unlimited focus.  Together, the armor and cloak reduce range damage 80%.  Using this build i sometimes think cheat mode is on or something.

Also, any captain susceptible to frost can be killed in at most 2 hits with stun punch or vault stun.  Anyone who is still a challenge, use the extended duration wrath ability.

Note, i have the outlaw armor that also reduce enraged damage and range damage, and is slightly better.  I like the numenorean aesthetics better tho.

How come you have 55 focus regen by hit? Thought you could get just 15 per hit as secondary effect. And mightmender gives might per hit as primary effect.

He showed me a picture of his hammer once. The primary effect is 40 focus recovery per ranged hit, and the second is 15 focus recovery per ranged hit. And his hammer is actually called "Mindmender", not "Mightmender", as I learned.

Four pieces of legendary outlaw gear & two pieces of ringwraith = My ultimate build

Sword - Blackguard sword/ legendary outlaw

trait no.1 - 55% increased melee damage against enraged enemies

                   - Since slmost every player put a lot  of berserkers in their fortresses, so the sword comes in handy.

trait no.2 - Critical hits have a 50% chance to freeze enemies.

                   - Freezing your enemies makes them look like icy snowman. woo christmas!!

Dagger - Blackguard dagger/ legendary outlaw

trait no.1 - 80% increased stealth damage against enraged enemies.

                   - like i mentioned before, since there is a lot of bersekers in players fortresses, the dagger comes in handy.

tarit no.2 - 50 might gain on a stealth kill

                   - use chain stealth to get rid of a bunch of grunts and you will gain as many might as possible to defeat                               captains.

Bow - Blackguard bow/ legendary outlaw

trait no.1 - 55% increased ranged damage against enraged enemies

trait no.2 - 3 might fain per ranged attack hit

    Armor - Servant's Blackened armor/ legendary ringwraith

trait no.1 - Allied grunts have a 40% chance to resurrect when they die

                  - now you don't have to press T to resurrect grunts, saving might to DO SOMETHING ELSE!

trait no.2 - 25% chance that a critical hit applies frost.

Cloak - Mask of the Undying/ legendary ringwraith

trait no.1 - Water of lorien and spectral dash cost no focus, melee damage and stealth damage will increase by 33% for                   5 seconds after use.

                   - the reason why i recommend you guys using this, because when you poisoned or cursed, you lose focus to                     sprint and become slow to move, with the mask, you are able to dash to anyhwere you want.

trait no.2 - undead allies take 50% less damage

Rune - Blackguard rune/ legendary outlaw

trait no.1 - Followers deal 100% increased damage against enraged enemies

                   - thie rune is extremely useful in conquest, enemies will be on the ground within seconds, especially                                 when it comes to berserkers.

trait no.2 - eleven rage lasts 33% longer

                   - you often get full wraith after entering the throne, by putting the rune on talion's finger, you can do more                            combat execution, etc... on overlord after pressing 5

btw i often play SOW on brutal difficulty

Commons don't have any traits. Rares have one. Epics and legendaries have 2. What I was saying was that I've never seen a legendary rune with "Elven Rage lasts 33% longer" as a secondary perk. I've only seen it as the secondary perk on Epic runes and the only perk on rares.

This is a build I’ve been working on for the last few days, the layout is still a bit rough but I will try to clean it up. If there are any issues with the build please let me know.

As the name, Frozen With Fear, suggests, the build focuses on freezing orcs in their tracks and causing them to shrakh themselves in terror.

    Frozen With Fear

The Build focuses on fear and frost.

The fear aspect will be focused on terrifying as many orcs as possible while causing terror and confusion, in the form of curse explosions and headless corpses. Fleeing grunts will be ruthlessly dealt with then resurrected in the midst of combat, whether by your intervention or by the Amour’s ability.

The Ice aspect is all about immobilising your enemies with icy explosions. This will allow you to quickly build Might with ice storm finishers, while also terrifying your opponents. Freezing your foes mid combat will also allow your allies to slaughter their helpless foes.

    Gear and overview of use:

Bright Lord Sword: Wrath on Ice storm finisher and health on execution+ Green Gem

Bright Lord Bow/ Hammer Ice AOE + Focus gain on ranged hit. Red Gem for Max Damage. Or Green Gem if AOE counts towards life steal.

Terror Dagger: Stealth Drain Head pop + randomized dagger roll

    • Stealth Drain creates fear and curse explosion allowing for more stealth attacks on fleeing grunts.
    • Stealth chain kills can be used in order to have some corpses that can be resurrected. Powerful with Wraith Chain: Shadow blade.

Terror Rune: For head explosions on drains+ Randomized ring roll:

    • Try for 25 might gain per enemy drained or dominated (Very powerful with Chain of Souls. Lot of health, lot of fear+ Curse explosions and allows for quick might gain for re-use or attacking a captain).
    • Alternatively: Try for the increased duration of Elven Rage to offset part of the B.L set bonus
    • Green would reduce damage dealt to allies though, making your allies that much more durable. Works best on undead as the Mask of the General also kicks in. However, if you go for a berserker bodyguard a decent damage buff would definitely work.

Blackened servant Armor: 40% Resurrection chance + 25% Curse chance on crit. I prefer Green Gem, but your choice

Mask of the General: Consume and drain kills creates curse explosions+ Undead dmg taken down 50%. I prefer Green Gem, but your choice. This will synergises with the terror pieces, allowing for lots of fleeing grunts.

Bright: 2 pieces: 50%+ Wrath gain, halves Elven rage duration

Horror: 2 Pieces: Quick throw instakills grunt

Nazgul: 2 Pieces: Call followers and iron guard summon undead. Plus the B.S Armor and Nazgul helm looks amazing that and the aesthetic must be terrifying for the poor bastards on the receiving end. The Dark Lord's chosen wreaking havoc and sowing terror.

    Modus Operandi:

Stealth Drain creates fear and curse explosion allowing for more stealth attacks on fleeing grunts.

Chain Consume: Several orc's heads suddenly pop with a curse explosion, spreading terror

Ice Storm: Shattering Blow: to generate Terror. Fleeing grunts can be brutalized or stealth drained for fear and curse explosions.

    The Brightlord's bow:

    • Freezes large group of enemies, setting up ice storm finishers
    • Using the slowed time to detonate three Ice AOE on a capture point (or anywhere) from above. Then shattering them. N.B No longer freezes allies.
    • Shadow strike dominate could be a good way to start a fight. With a curse explosion and terror in the middle of an enemy group could work well.

The Terror gear set bonus, allows for fleeing grunts to be instakilled. A green gem with throwing knife means some health gain and leaves corpses that can be reanimated.

Brightlord set allows for an Ice AOE and Wrath gain. Elven rage can be used quite often due to increased wrath generation. Benefits from Ring and Dagger secondary traits if you can get them.

Raise Dead to bring back any grunts that still have a head. Dark Embrace could be used to generate terror in doing so, but loses out on the benefits of the Mask of the General.

    Perks:

Fatal Counter or Rain of Arrows:

    • Instakill grunts, leaves bodies to resurrect, OR
    • restock on arrows in combat for more Ice AOE

    Elven Light:

    • Poison: Poison doesn't free frozen orcs. OR
    • Ice: Can be used if you run out of arrows.

Mighty Shot: Poison: The B.L Ranged weapon provides Ice AOE on headshot's so a freezing mighty shot seems wasteful

Freeze pin: Brutal Cold: Enemies flee. Wrath gain from the B.L sword

Eagle's Eyrie with Eagle sight, to fire of Ice AOE arrows. Or Hammer of Eregion:

    • Bird of prey with Eagle's sight: Could be useful for large groups or Fort assaults. Using the slowed time to detonate three Ice AOE on a capture point from above. Then shattering them. N.B No longer freezes allies. OR
    • Hammer of Eregion: freezing enemies mid-combat while dodging incoming strikes.

Shadow Strike Dominate could be a good way to start a fight. Teleporting into battle with a curse explosion and terror in the middle of an enemy group could work well.

Deadly Spectre: Spirit Drain for fear and explosions. Fits the build, might be useful.

Dominate Captains: Enrage Followers or Lifeblood. Either enrage your bodyguard or heal them. Enraging might work best given the high wrath gain of the B.L Set bonus

Chain Execution + B.L Sword: 40 Health gain per execution. Brutal Aggression (Base skill) means enemies flee when they see an execution. Corpses if intact (mostly) can be resurrected for cannon fodder.

Alternatively, you could use 2 Might attacks. Better for more general use but lacks the health gain of the chain execution.

    Bodyguard and beast:

    • Switch to whatever beast exploits a captain's weakness.

    Bodyguard:

    • Ideally a Berserker captain (Savage or Defender), try for enraged by curse or brutality.
    • Element of your choice.
    • Epic traits: Great Strength and/or Epic Rage. For harder hitting and for longer period of enraged fury.
    • Try and use the bodyguard to compensate for any problems or just to bludgeon the sods into a bloody mess

    N.B

Brutalize: Doesn’t synergize well with the build in the long term. While it could be useful in filling up your might or starting a battle by terrifying multiple grunts while leaving a corpse. There is an Epic sword (Gutchaser) that gains 10 Might for each grunt that flees from a brutalize kill.

Quiver of souls is essential. It causes grunts that are drained manually to die, creating the fear and curse explosion.

Fatal Counter or Rain of Arrows:

    • Instakill grunts, leaves bodies to resurrect, OR
    • restock on arrows in combat for more Ice AOE

So My current build for Brutal focusses on dealing as much damage as possible at lower health, while being able to quickly heal in a pinch, kill several grunts and resurrect them to take aggro off me to create more openings for me to deal damage. I use all Perfect Warrior gems besides the rune slot, where I use a Perfect Life gem to make my captains and even my grunts a little tankier.

Sword: Paineater (Epic, Deals 1% increased damage for every 2% health lost)  - Mine also has 3 might gain on any hit for it's secondary effect.

Dagger: Any Dagger with a 33% boost to the critical damage modifier - I have this skill on Acharn for the rez, but I spam raise dead so much with the ability that I'll probably replace it with the arcane dagger if I can re-roll the crit boost, for longer wraith chains. The dagger of vengeance is also great for huge setup stealth damage if you use a couple of raise dead or throw off a couple of aimless mighty shots before using spectral dash and pouncing a captain. Even without the critical modifier, you get 30% damage boost from the gem, 33% from spectral dash and 33% from being below 35% health.

Longbow/Hammer : Almsgiver (Epic, deals 1% increased range damage for each 1% health lost) The longbow is insanely strong and has piercing, but takes longer to charge. The hammer is significantly weaker, but quicker to fully charge and when damaged boosted, the AoE alone can kill nearby grunts. Plus the stun/knockdowns can even affect arrow proof captains.

Armour of Venngeance:15% damage boost to all attacks at low health, plus the 2 piece set bonus makes this easier to procc and gives you massive raise dead potential, by raising a few dead, draining an enemy and repeating; besides the orc who's head you popped, of course. I also managed to re-roll the 40% reduced range damage, thankfully)

Mask of the Undying: Removing the focus cost on waters of lorien/ spectral dash seriously makes these abilities strong. Their biggest weakness is still how the quick animation means less i-frames, so never dodge into charging enemies, or you'll likely be caught in their grab animation. However, you move quickly, cover great distance and manage a nearly constant 33% damage boost. It's easily the most powerful and versatile of the Nazgul masks.

Rune of Vengeance: Another 15% boost to all damage below 35% health. Not to mention the 100% increased heal on brand/drain attacks (minus consume and shadowstrike dominate) basically fully restore your health.

My build revolves around Waters of Lorien/Spectral Dash, fatal might, quiver of souls, ground drain, elven light (non elemental), raise dead and shadow strike/shadow strike pull. While riskier, shadow strike/pull  plus ground drain does everything shadowstrike dominate does, but with better healing (thanks to the necessary nerf). The only edge on shadowstrike domnaite is that it can instantly dominate broken olog captains and there's no risk of being damaged or interrupted when using it. I find that a lot of the time, I prefer non lethat Shadowstrike or shadowstrike pull to shadowstrike dominate. With quiver of souls, it's also a net +2 elfshot. And of course, without dominate, draining instantly kills archers, but terrifies any other grunt, allowing for a brutalise or wraith chain during combat. So perfect counters (I use rain of arrows) or non lethal shadowstrikes are the quickest and easiest ways to set them up mid combat.

I'm not at max level yet in this save, but eh, whatever.

Nothing outstanding, but pretty useful. I'm almost never low on Elf shot thanks this sword, and the extra Might gain is helpful as well.

This thing is awesome. Full Might on a quick throw every 35 seconds is one of the best secondary dagger perks. I know the Dagger of Vengeance does the same thing, but it doesn't reduce focus consumption like this bad boy. The primary perk on the Vengeance dagger isn't that great.

    Hammer: http://imgur.com/a/cXpmc2b

Hammers are much better than how's and longbows, imo. This one gives extra Might for every ranged attack hit, and since hammers deal AOE damage, I get even more Might. And this hammer also increase ranged damage when my Might is full, which is great, since my Night is usually always full, thanks to my dagger and armor.

This is one of the best Epic armors out there. You don't even need to get hit for it to proc. If a guy goes to hit you and misses, there still a chance to gain full Might. The secondary effect is meh, but it's not worth re-rolling it, since I'm probably gonna swap it out for the Servant's Blackened Armor once I get it.

I hate losing all my wrath in a single hit, so this cloak is perfect t for me.

Only wearing this for the recording perk. Increased Elven Rage duration is my favorite wine perk.
